Taqueria del Sol

Taqueria del Sol is a Mexican restaurant nestled just minutes from Downtown Atlanta, part of a local chain known for its clean and bright ambiance and delicious, fuss-free cuisine. Read on below for more information on what makes Taqueria del Sol a can’t-miss destination during your time in Atlanta!

Amazing Mexican Cuisine in Atlanta at Taqueria del Sol

Located in the Westside Provisions District, Taqueria del Sol serves up a Southern take on traditional Mexican cuisine, dished out in a cheerful modern setting. It’s the perfect place to grab lunch or dinner when you’re dying for tacos or enchiladas and both Southern and Southwestern style meats. The restaurant is also known for being vegetarian friendly.

The menu at Taqueria del Sol is simple, but the restaurant’s focus on only doing a handful of things and doing them well has more than paid off, giving it a local following. Choose from tacos and enchiladas with your choice of stuffing, as well as a selection of sides, soups, chilis, and several combinations of chips and dip. Try the shrimp corn chowder or the jalapeno coleslaw for unique flavors.

Taqueria del Sol is famous for their tacos, served on soft flour tortillas filled with shredded beef brisket, Memphis-style chopped smoked pork, fried chicken, carnitas, breaded tilapia, or veggies. The enchiladas at Taqueria del Sol Atlanta are also divine, with the option to choose from roasted chicken, brisket, cheese, or refried beans drowning in delicious beef red chili, pork green chili, or lemon cream sauce.

You’ll encounter Taqueria del Sol Atlanta in the Westside Provisions District at 1200 Howell Mill Rd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Find out more about the restaurant by asking our representatives at Atlanta Luxury Rentals, or by calling (404) 352-5811.

Unique Adventures Near Taqueria del Sol

Visit an Industrial Zone Turned Arts Center

The Goat Farm Arts Center is a fascinating Westside spot: this 19th century abandoned factory has been repurposed as a location for both showcasing and creating art. Parts of The Walking Dead and Hunger Games: Catching Fire were filmed here, and many artists use it as the backdrop for their work. With more than 150 exhibitions and shows hosted here annually, and 450 artists using it as studio space, The Goat Farm is definitely a working artist’s dream come true.

During your visit to Atlanta, you might be fortunate enough to catch a classical or contemporary concert here in one of the unique outdoor venue spaces, or perhaps an experimental theatre performance, film screening, workshop, or seminar. Even if you don’t visit during an event, you can have fun walking around and exploring this unique and strange environment and stop by the coffee shop for some of their very popular brew.

Another unique converted industrial zone nearby is the King Plow Arts Center, a mixed-use development in a former plow factory. This center includes working studios, galleries, a restaurant, and the Terminal West concert venue. Have lunch at Stationside, Tuesday through Friday, 11-2; they also offer a special dinner menu during concerts. Check out the full list of King Plow businesses in their studio directory. King Plow is also a unique spot to host your special event, if you’re planning one while in Atlanta, and they’ve got Bold Catering & Design on hand to help you plan it. Stop by and check it out!

Step Into a Music Video

If you love Atlanta trap, you won’t want to miss a visit to the Trap Music Museum. While it’s far from the only spot dedicated to trap music in Atlanta, this fun spot is open late and located near Taqueria del Sol, so head there after dinner for some drinks and a fun experience.

Make sure you’re all dressed up and Instagram-ready: this place is great for a photo spree! You can also lay down your own beats and raps, as well as enjoy cocktails. The Trap Music Museum offers “Sip and Trap Thursdays” from 4 to 10 pm on Thursdays, which is their version of happy hour.

The Trap Music Museum is open Thursdays through Sundays, but if you want to visit during the week, there’s still a way: you just combine a tour with an even better experience: their escape room! Guests who play the escape room during the week also get a private tour of the museum, so this is definitely the best deal around.
