A Culinary History
In the 1880’s Atlanta was home to the Miller Union stockyards which stretched over an entire city-block and encompassed the city’s meat-packing district. A fire destroyed the original Miller Union stockyard building which was then replaced with an industrial warehouse. Today, Miller Union as a restaurant occupies the completely refurbished warehouse and has done much to improve and uplift the neighborhood in which it sits. Opened by owners Steven Satterfield and Neal McCarthy in 2009, Miller Union has become an icon of Atlanta’s southern food scene and works hard to maintain a culture of locally-sourced produce.
