The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum Atlanta is an expansive museum and research library housed within a nearly 70,000 square foot building (over 15,000 square feet of museum space and nearly 20,000 square feet of collection storage space) with two lakes and an accompanying 35 acres of beautiful Japanese Garden grounds designed by Japanese master gardener Kinsaku Nakane.
Within the museum, you and your guests can explore the Carter Administration and the daily life of a modern president through photographs, documents, objects, videos, gifts from world leaders, a presentation that walks you through the former president’s daily routine while in office, a walk through cabin replica of Camp David, and a life sized replica of the Oval Office.
Admission prices for the museum range from $6.00 – $8.00 depending on age and status as a military member or student. Children ages 16 years and younger are admitted for free.
The museum is open daily, with hours from 9:00am – 4:45pm on Monday through Saturday and from 12:00pm – 4:45pm on Sundays.
