Concrete Jungle is sharing a bit of their harvest with Bellina Alimentari to demonstrate the wide variety of local wild flavors readily available to Atlantans throughout the season. Learn about foraging and sample native persimmons, pears and flying dragon fruit foraged within 2 miles of Ponce City Market. Enjoy a demo and tasting of a cocktail and a dish featuring foraged ingredients. 50% of proceeds from class will be donated back to Concrete Jungle.
Concrete Jungle is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that connects the dots between Georgia’s abundant fruit tree canopy and the hungry and homeless in Georgia who rarely have access to fresh, local produce. In the past eight years, they have rescued and donated over 38,000 pounds of fresh local produce to food banks and shelters — free produce that would have otherwise rotted in parks, yards, farms and on streets.
