The Georgia Forestry Foundation (GFF), the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) & Chattahoochee Nature Center are teaming up to teach about Georgia’s working forests. With a National Forest Products Week theme, rangers from GFC will be on-hand with their friend Smokey Bear to talk about wildfires and prescribed fires. CNC will showcase a live gopher tortoise to teach a key message that there is both “good fire” and “bad fire,” and explain how prescribed fire is essential to sustainable forest management.
