Exhibits
Rated among the top 10 in the world for dinosaur exhibits by CNN Travel and USA Today, the permanent dinosaur exhibit fills the museum’s Great Hall, recreating life in the badlands of Patagonia, Argentina, where the largest dinosaurs in the world were discovered. Walk along the length of the 123-foot long Argentinosaurus, the largest dinosaur ever classified.

Learn about Georgia’s natural history in Fernbank’s signature exhibition, A Walk Through Time in Georgia. View displays of local plants and animals and learn more about the geographical region in which they live.
Fernbank has an extensive 75 acres of outdoor nature adventure area waiting to be explored. In WildWoods, an elevated walkway takes you from the museum’s terrace into the treetops. Search for a variety of native plants, flowers and wildlife, and explore the great outdoors with a sensory wall, animal tracks, and tree molds. Children will love this hands-on experience!
Swim alongside whales and sea turtles, migrate with monarch butterflies, and walk the earth with the dinosaurs in the theater showing 3D movies on the big screen, where the museum’s topics are brought to life.
Special Events
Adults 21 and over will enjoy the museum’s monthly event Fernbank After Dark. Enjoy science activities, after-hours museum access, live music, craft beer and cocktails, and movies on the big screen. Family-friendly special events are also on the calendar, including live animal encounters and storytelling.
